Living and workspace condos open near National Cemetery
3/6/2008
The city's newest downtown condominium building across from the Marietta National Cemetery near the Square celebrated its grand opening for the public March 6.
Washington Avenue Commons is a four-story mixed-use building with first floor class-A office space and 18 self-contained residential units.
Recalling the city's former court house, the development seeks to restore some of the architectural style of Marietta's past. The all-brick building, which is located on Washington Avenue near Cole Street, was permitted using the city's new overlay zoning district that encourages higher quality design. The project features underground parking and storage, roof-terrace entertainment space, private balconies and luxury finishes.
